Serving, separated, sanctified, for Jesus' sake!
==>We post our twice-weekly "bits and pieces" at the area titled "Sermons, teachings, and devotionals."
The mission of the church is to create a spirit of unrest in the hearts of the people and so disgust them with sin that they will forsake their iniquities. ---Billy Sunday
“Making ready a people, prepared for the Lord" Is taken directly from scripture at Luke 1:17 and refers to the ministry of John the Baptist, who was the forerunner of Jesus. His mission was to go before the Messiah and prepare the people for His coming. We believe that as a church of called-out people, we are sent and commissioned to prepare people not only for the coming of the King, but also to live full, meaningful and purpose-filled lives here on earth as well.
We proclaim Jesus Christ.
Our Lord has commanded us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. We are to win the lost to Christ and establish New Testament Churches. This work will not be accomplished by means of education and training; it will only be accomplished by people with pioneering spirit, people who believe God for what must be done. ---Clarence Sexton
We are Fundamental, Bible-believing, Gospel preaching. We adhere faithfully to the King James Bible and accept it as God‘s authorized and preserved version of His Holy Word in the English language. We stand up to say “Yes” to the things God loves, and “No” to the things God hates. We believe in personal and ecclesiastical separation, revival, and soul winning. We accept without reservation that all Christian work is an inseparable tandem of loving the brethren and speaking (and acting upon) the truth of Scripture. We believe that God the Holy Spirit leads us in arriving at truth through the Scriptures for all matters of faith, doctrine, life, and work.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all came looking for the wounded, and They found me … on the street… wounded…… putrid wounds inflicted by sin, Satan, society, self … and They healed me.
(1) I’m not a preacher, I’m just out looking for the wounded.
(2) Look for the wounded … you won’t have to look far.
(3) We’ve gotten too busy, we’ve lost our burden; we’ve gotten too big, we’ve forgotten the little people.
(4) Take the wounded and bring them to be healed by the Great Physician.
(5) When the Savior heals the wounded, He sends them back into battle, to look for more wounded.
(6) When God entered the garden after the fall, He is the first soul-winner, He comes looking for the wounded.
(7) God’s eyes went to and fro in the earth - He was looking for the wounded, to bind up the broken-hearted. ---Clyde Box
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
“Likewise greet the church that is in their house.” (Romans 16:5)
The local church met in private homes at the very beginning.
(See Acts 12:12; 1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 14:15; Philemon 2.) Sanday writes, “There is no decisive evidence until the Third Century of the existence of special buildings used for churches.” It is the belief of many folk today, and I have found this belief for years, that the church which began in the home will return to meeting in the home. Many of these great big buildings we call churches, with great steeples on them, are nothing more than a pile of brick, stone and mortar [and holding large mortgages]. They are mausoleums, not living churches that contain a real, living body of believers. The church was never intended to be spoken of as a building. For the first three centuries, the church was the body of believers and met in homes like that of Aquila and Priscilla. ---J. Vernon McGee
My friend, there is a God in heaven who paid a great price to save His people from their sins. Lord Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross of Calvary, and you better trust it to cover your sins, because many of you are trusting in your own will, in your fascination for convenient kindness, and in your fervent efforts to build a tower of Babel -- all of that will be cast down with you into the lake of fire on the last day. I beg of you not to play with this fire. God loves you that much and far greater; He can save you from sin, death, and Hell.
God’s Plan of Salvation. 1. What does God want you to do? “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12) 2. How can you believe? “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10 3. What can you do to show that you believe? You can sincerely pray this prayer - or another prayer from your own heart - and tell God that you believe and accept (trust) His Son as your Savior.
Lord, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me for my sins and help me to turn from them in hatred for them. I know that I deserve Hell for my sins. But I believe that Jesus died to pay for my sins and to take the punishment for me. I know that He purchased my salvation with His own precious blood, and has given me the precious gift of eternal life with Him in Heaven. I trust Him and accept Him now as my Savior. Amen.
